Israeli Christian Brutally Murders His 17-Year-Old Daughter For Dating A Muslim

July 19, 2017

The Christian father of a 17-year-old girl in Ramle, Israel was arrested on Sunday for her murder one month after police found her body in her parents’ kitchen with multiple stab wounds to her neck.

On June 13th, Henriette Karra told a relative of her plans to convert to Islam for her Muslim boyfriend. Henriette would not live to see June 14th. Her relative called her father, Sami Karra, and told him of Henriette’s plans. Her boyfriend was in jail at the time, but was due to be released soon.

Henriette had been in a relationship with her Muslim boyfriend for some time, driving her conservative Christian parents to beat her for bringing shame to their “family’s honor”. Henriette filed complaints with police, and had texted relatives about the abuse she was suffering from her parents.

According to the Jerusalem post, one of Henriette’s text messages read, “You won’t believe what they did to me… They are sending people to kill me.”

Despite her complaints to police, Henriette died. Sami Karra decided that the only way to save his loving Christian family’s honor was by stabbing his daughter in the neck several times until she died in their kitchen. Henriette’s decision to believe the made-up nonsense in the Quran instead of the made-up nonsense in the Bible was all it took for her father to violently condemn her.

The corrosive, toxic results of religious dogmatism show their face once again. I have no idea if Sami Karra truly loved his daughter or not. Did he think he was saving her soul by killing her before she officially left the Christian church? Was he only concerned about their family’s honor and what the community would think if she left the church?

Whatever Sami Karra’s personal thoughts and motivations, his actions are insanely despicable. As physicist Steven Weinberg has said, “With or without religion, good people can behave well and bad people can do evil; but for good people to do evil – that takes religion.”
